Balıkesir Cement Plant has been chosen  one of the best cement plant in safety after the evaluation performed by Cement Industry Employers Union (CEIS) Management Committee and CEIS Safety Committee among all CEIS members’ cement plants over the Turkey by taking into consideration their lost time injury frequency rates and severity rates in 2007.  Balıkesir Plant has completed the year of 2007 without any lost time injury (LTI) both for group personnel and the third parties (contractors, suppliers and visitor) and reached 0 (zero) LTI frequency and severity rate.
“The Best Safety Performance Award” has been given to plant management by the Minister of Labour and Social Security during the “Safety at Cement Industry Symposium” held in Izmir on 14th of November 2008.
